Wednesday's Word 11.14.12

Not quite an onomatopoeia, skinship is nonetheless, a highly evocative word; one that brings to mind the nuzzling of glowing, baby-fresh skin and that sweet inhale of love that exists between a parent and child. It’s a word that represents a bond born of a tie so close, that the touching of skin is an assumed and deeply essential part of the relationship.

This Wednesday’s Word is dedicated to all of those who have recently become parents, and to all of those who have the joy of experiencing skinship first hand.

Wednesday's Word 9.5.12

The best kind of people have kalon in spades. They are the givers of the world. Those that know that it's not what you say, but what you do that defines you. They are the ones that do what's right when no one is watching, the ones that truly want what's best for others, no strings attached.

Wednesday's Word 8.29.12

I tend to be a glass-half-full kind of girl. I usually look on the bright side and see the silver lining in most situations. This is not to say that I don’t have my occasional cynical moments. Well, eternity is a pretty long time...but, if I had to pick a camp to align myself with until the end of time, it would definitely be the optimists over the pessimists.

Wednesday's Word 8.22.12

Somewhat akin to wonder, today’s word describes my favorite kind of happenstance. Too few, too far in between, selcouth moments need to be treasured and celebrated when they appear.

Here’s wishing you a lifetime full of them…

Wednesday's Word 8.15.12

Yesterday on Twitter, Shaun Usher of Letters of Note was campaigning for the resurgence of the word, “overmorrow.” I too think it’s a lovely word and worthy of immediate revival. Therefore, even though I have many other words that I’m dying to share, I thought I'd make overmorrow the inaugural word of the Wednesday’s Word column.

Adieu, until tomorrow. (Overmorrow at the latest.)
